U.S. Senators Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins today announced that the U.S. Department of Labor has certified Trade Adjustment Assistance for Elmet Technologies employees. All workers of Elmet Technologies, Lighting Division, who became totally or partially separated from employment on or after January 22, 2007, are eligible to apply for the assistance. Workers can access these benefits by going to their local one-stop career center. The easiest way to locate the closest one-stop is by going to www.servicelocator.org and entering their zip code.
“Any worker facing the prospect of losing their job deserves to have every resource available to them to overcome the burden of job loss,” Senators Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement. “Hopefully, the workers of Elmet Technologies will be able to utilize trade adjustment assistance as they transition into new employment opportunities.”
