SNOWE AND COLLINS ANNOUNCE OVER $1 MILLION FOR HEAD START PROGRAM IN MAINE

WASHINGTON, DC – Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins announced today that the United States Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $1,258,603 in grants to support Head Start projects in Maine. Specifically, this grant was awarded to the Kennebec Valley Community Action Program to fund continuing Head Start projects.

"For years, the Kennebec Valley Community Action Program has worked to establish and maintain Head Start programs in Kennebec County," Senators Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement. "Head Start programs are critical in preparing young children in low-income families for the classroom and the funds awarded today will allow this program to continue."
