Senator Collins Attends Ribbon Cutting Ceremony At UMF

Senator Susan Collins recently attended the ribbon cutting of the new Education Center at the University of Maine at Farmington. Senator Collins is shown here with President Theo Kalikow, just before a tour of the facility.   The 44,000 square foot UMF Education Center is designed to prepare future teachers and community health professionals in a fully state-of-the-art environment.  New England is currently experiencing a shortage of qualified educators, and it is hoped that this new center will help cure the shortage.   Senator Collins served as the honorary chairperson of UMF’s Education Matters! Campaign for the Education Center, which raised funds for the $8.8 million facility.
