Collins, King Announce More than $1.7 Million in Grant Funding For Airports Across Maine

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins, Chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, and Angus King today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded a total of $1,739,294 in grant funding to five airports across Maine. The funding is awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration, an agency within the DOT.

Senator Collins’ Amendment to Prohibit the Closing of Contract Weather Observer Service at Airports Passes Senate

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Senate unanimously passed an amendment authored by Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, that would prohibit the closing of the contract weather observer (CWO) service.  The amendment was attached to the FAA Reauthorization Act, which is currently being considered by the U.S. Senate.

Senator Collins Statement on Bipartisan Passage of Long-Term Transportation Funding Bill

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, voted in favor of the bipartisan Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, a $305 billion, fully funded five-year surface transportation bill that would reauthorize our nation’s highway, transit, rail and safety programs. The legislation passed the Senate with strong bipartisan support (83-16) this evening.

Senator Collins Announces $20 Million Investment in the Maine Railways Project

     WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Subcommittee, announced this morning that the Department of Transportation will award the Maine Railways Project $20 million in funding through the successful Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant program.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation will award $25 million in grant funding to the Maine Department of Transportation to replace the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge connecting Kittery, ME and Portsmouth, NH.  Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx notified Senator Collins of the Transportation Investment Generation Economic Recovery (TIGER) VI funding during a phone call this evening.
