U.S. NAVY ACCEPTS SENATOR COLLINS’ REQUEST FOR MAINE PORT VISITS U.S.S. CAPE ST. GEORGE TO ATTEND BELFAST BAY FESTIVAL

Washington, DC –Senator Susan Collins today announced that the U.S. Navy is sending the U.S.S. Cape St. George (CG 71) to the Belfast Bay Festival this summer. The ship is scheduled to be in Belfast from July 20th – 24th.

"It is an honor for Maine and the town of Belfast to host a Navy ship. This visit will add a unique experience for all who attend the Belfast Bay Festival this summer," said Senator Collins. "Further, this ship visit will provide the opportunity for the dedicated members of the U.S. Navy to meet the citizens they protect."

Senator Collins is a Member of the Seapower Subcommittee of the Senate Armed Services Committee, which has oversight over many naval programs including shipbuilding.
