UMAINE STUDENT INTERNS FOR SENATOR COLLINS IN DC

Washington DC- Senator Susan Collins today announced that Mia Dow of Presque Isle has been awarded an internship in her Washington DC office this summer. Dow will assist the Senator with the daily operations of the office by helping respond to constituent comments and concerns.

"Internships are the best way to provide students with real life experiences and give them the opportunity to see the everyday operations of a congressional office," said Senator Collins. "It is such an excitement to have Mia in the office this summer, I am impressed with her enthusiasm for politics." Dow graduated from The Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Lewiston and is currently a Studio Art major at the University of Maine at Orono where she is actively involved in politics on campus and enjoys working on campaigns. She will graduate in May 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Studio Art and plans to pursue a career with the Republican Party.
