SNOWE, COLLINS ANNOUNCE NEARLY $2 MILLION FOR PORTLAND JETPORT

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME) today announced $1,982,944 in federal funding to the Portland International Jetport from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The federal award will assist in the reconstruction of Runway 11-29 and the completion of a safety area at the end of Runway 11.

"The Portland Jetport is a gateway to Maine for countless tourists, business travellers, and residents each year. This federal funding will assist in enhancing and improving critical infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted operations at the jetport," said Snowe and Collins in a joint statement.

The FAA is an agency under the U.S. Department of Transportation.
