SNOWE & COLLINS ANNOUNCE $700,000 FOR HARTLAND POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY

Washington, D.C. –- Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins announced today that the Economic Development Administration (EDA) is delivering $700,000 in grant funding to the town of Hartland to upgrade its Pollution Control Facility.

"This EDA grant will greatly benefit the Town of Hartland and the businesses in the community. This essential funding will be used to upgrade the town's wastewater treatment facility, increasing its efficiency and reducing operating costs," said the Senators in a joint statement. "This is an outstanding use of federal funds because the grant will help to preserve jobs in a small rural town and will also help the environment."

The grant is awarded by the EDA, an agency of the US Department of Commerce The town of Hartland's application for this project was submitted in collaboration with the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments, the local Economic Development District.
