SNOWE, COLLINS ANNOUNCE $390,813 IN FUNDING TO JACKSON LABORATORY

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME) today announced that the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME $390,813 in federal funding for clinical research related to neurological disorders.

"This critical funding will allow Jackson Laboratories to conduct vital research into neurological disorders," Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke conducts and supports research on brain and nervous system disorders. It is one of the more than two dozen research institutes and centers that comprise the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which is an agency of the Public Health Service within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
