U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Olympia J. Snowe today announced that the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) has approved Calendar Year 2007 funding in the amount of $718,951 to the Brunswick Local Redevelopment Authority for organizational and planning activities at the Brunswick Naval Air Station. The additional money will help fund additional technical work as well as additional community outreach. With this announcement, DoD has committed a total of $1,575,083, to date, for this project.
“We are pleased that the Office of Economic Adjustment has agreed to provide this additional funding to assist the Brunswick Local Redevelopment Authority,” said Senators Collins and Snowe in a joint statement. “This decision is another positive step forward to help the Brunswick LRA perform additional technical work and community outreach to help ensure a successful community-driven, redevelopment of the Brunswick Naval Air Station.”
