SENATOR SUSAN COLLINS SUCCESSFUL IN ADVOCATING FOR EXPANSION OF DFAS FACILITY IN LIMESTONE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Susan Collins was notified today by the Pentagon that up to 16 new jobs will be coming to the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) Operating Location in Limestone. Earlier this month, Senator Susan Collins spoke to the Pentagon's Comptroller about directing any possible expansion in employment opportunities to the Limestone office.

"I'm delighted to learn that the Pentagon has followed my recommendation. The personnel at the Limestone facility have been recognized repeatedly for the quality of their work and for the cost-efficient operations they provide to the Department," said Senator Collins. "I'm glad to see the Pentagon's faith in the Limestone operation illustrated with a commitment for new jobs."

In her conversation, and a subsequent letter to Comptroller Dr. Dov Zakheim, Senator Collins, who is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, urged him to recognize the hard work of the excellent employees at the DFAS facility in Limestone.
