SENATOR SUSAN COLLINS SAYS SECRETARY OF STATE COLIN POWELL’S PRESENTATION TO U.N. COMPREHENSIVE, COMPELLING

WASHINGTON, D.C. – After listening to Secretary of State Colin Powell's meticulous presentation of infractions and deceptions on the part of Iraq to the United Nation's Security Council, Senator Susan Collins praised the Secretary for providing these details to the American public and the world.

"Secretary Powell delivered a comprehensive, detailed presentation regarding Iraq's deceptive practices and defiance of UN resolutions. The case he laid out for disarming Iraq is compelling," the Senator said. "The ‘cat and mouse' game that Iraq heretofore has played must end. Now, it is time for our allies to join the United States in exerting maximum pressure on Saddam to comply immediately and fully with the U.N. inspections."
