Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Susan Collins met with nearly 50 eighth grade students, parents, and teachers from Presque Isle Middle School who traveled to Washington, D.C., as part of the school’s annual class trip.

“I was delighted to welcome these students from Presque Isle Middle School to our nation’s capital,” said Senator Collins.  “I enjoyed speaking with these bright Maine students about my work and to answer their questions about the legislative process, the daily responsibilities of a U.S. Senator, and growing up in Aroostook County.  Washington, D.C., offers countless educational opportunities, and I am glad that these students had the chance to experience them firsthand.”

During their visit, the Presque Isle Middle School 8th grade students toured the U.S. Capitol building as well as other points of interest in Washington, D.C.
