Senator Collins Welcomes Portland Natives to Her Portland Office

Portland, ME — U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Sophie Frantz and Caitlyn Becker, both natives of Portland, have been awarded summer internships in her Portland office. Sophie is a 2018 graduate of Portland High School and is the daughter of Susan Lieberman and Stephan Frantz of Portland.  Caitlyn is a 2016 graduate of Falmouth High School and is the daughter of Beth and Bill Becker of Portland.

 

“Sophie and Caitlyn are hard workers and terrific students, and I am delighted to welcome them to my Portland office,” said Senator Collins.  “I enjoy every opportunity to give students the ability to become actively involved in the legislative process and to serve the citizens of Maine.”

 

Sophie is a sophomore at American University in Washington, D.C., where she is studying political science with an interest towards education. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a career in public service, working specifically in education policy.

 

Caitlyn is a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she is studying communication and political science.  After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in political consulting.
