SENATOR COLLINS WELCOMES MAGNUM BOOTS TO LEWISTON

Washington, D.C. – Senator Susan Collins today applauded the sale of Falcon Shoe to Magnum USA, a division of Hi-Tec Sports USA, Inc., which will keep shoe-making production in Lewiston. Senator Collins has worked for the past year with Falcon Shoe Manufacturing regarding this deal. Through the acquisition Magnum has retained the current employees, hired of two additional management personnel, and will re-hire twelve former Falcon employees once the transfer is complete. Lewiston will be the first Magnum facility in the United States.

"This is great news for Lewiston and Falcon Shoe. Lewiston has a proud history of shoe making, and that history will continue at the Continental Mill. It is the reputation of Falcon Shoe's employees as hard workers and skilled laborers that made this sale a success, and they will be a tremendous asset to Magnum Boots," Senator Collins said. "This sale is a success for the area because private industry, local economic developers, and all levels of government came together to ensure that a skilled manufacturing force remain strong and intact in the city of Lewiston. I welcome Magnum Boots to the city of Lewiston and look forward to its success in Maine."
