SENATOR COLLINS WELCOMES GLOBAL CONTACT SERVICES TO PITTSFIELD

U.S. Senator Susan Collins released this statement following today’s announcement that Global Contact Services (GCS) will open a new contact center in Pittsfield, creating at least 200 new jobs. GCS provides telephone communications services to major national corporations in the fields of insurance, financial, telecom, and politics. Senator Collins’ office has been working with state and local officials on this business attraction effort for several months.

“Today, I spoke with the CEO of Global Contact Services, Greg Alcorn, and was delighted to learn of his company’s decision to open its newest call center in Pittsfield. This is welcome news in a community that is going through unanticipated job losses with the announced closure of the SAS shoe manufacturing facility. I assured Mr. Alcorn that his company will find terrific, hard-working employees in the area who are eager to help his business deliver the very best customer service.

“I applaud the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development and the Town of Pittsfield and I am happy to have worked together to successfully bring GCS to Central Maine.”
