U.S. Senator Susan Collins today applauded the recent announcement of Maine Public Service Company to hold four, free Energy Management Workshops throughout Aroostook County. The workshops will give residents tips on ways to improve energy conservation and efficiency as well as ways to cut energy cost.
“These workshops are a fantastic way for northern Mainers to learn about effective ways to conserve energy, and more importantly, the money in their pockets,” said Senator Collins. “Growing up in northern Maine, I know the challenges faced by residents struggling to heat their homes during the winter. I am pleased to see these workshops being held. I hope that many County residents will attend these informative workshops.
“I continue to work in the Senate to find ways to reduce energy prices, both in the short and long term. Also, I will continue to work to fully fund the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program and the Weatherization Assistance Program, which help low-income families heat their homes more efficiently during the winter.”
The workshops will be held as follows:
September 19th – 9:00am to 11:00am – Island Falls Community Center, Island Falls
September 26th – 9:00am to 11:00am – University of Maine at Fort Kent, Fort Kent in Nadeau Hall
October 2nd – 6:30pm to 8:30pm – Northern Maine Community College, Presque Isle in Edmonds Center
