GRAY, ME – U.S. Senator Susan Collins visited Enercon Technologies in Gray yesterday to tour the company’s 70,000-square foot facility and meet with company leadership, engineers, and manufacturing employees. Enercon designs and builds electro-mechanical devices for the medical, industrial, and defense sectors, including medical devices, circuit boards.
“Enercon Technologies is doing impressive work in Gray, employing hundreds of Mainers to design and manufacture products that support medical technology, national defense, and other important industries,” said Senator Collins. “I enjoyed touring the facility, meeting with members of the Enercon team, and seeing firsthand the skill and precision that have made this company a valued part of Maine’s advanced manufacturing sector.”
As the Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Collins secured $3 million in the recently enacted defense appropriations bill to support the manufacture of small unmanned aircraft systems for Air Force Special Operations Command. Enercon is among the Maine manufacturers with experience in the advanced manufacturing work needed for this initiative.
