WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins released the following statement on the second anniversary of the October 25, 2023, shooting in the City of Lewiston:
“Two years after the tragedy in Lewiston, our hearts remain with the families and friends who lost loved ones and with all those whose lives were forever changed by that heinous attack. Eighteen Mainers were taken from us that night, and many others continue to recover and bear the weight of what happened on that terrible day.
“In the time since, the people of Lewiston have shown remarkable resilience and unity. We recognize the law enforcement officers, medical professionals, and neighbors who rushed to help, and we stand with the city as it continues to rebuild and heal. Their courage and compassion reflect the very best of Maine, and their example continues to inspire us all.”
