SENATOR COLLINS RECEIVES COMMUNITY HEALTH AWARD

Washington, D.C. - Senator Susan Collins has been honored with the Distinguished Community Health Award by the National Association of Community Health Centers. She was recognized for her legislative efforts on behalf of America's Health Centers and the nearly 15 million uninsured and medically underserved Americans that rely on them for vital primary care services.

"Ensuring that health care centers are better able to serve their communities with adequate and affordable health care services is extremely critical," said Senator Susan Collins. "It is a truly an honor to receive this award from such an important and prestigious organization."

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is the national trade association serving and representing the interests of America's community health centers. These not-for-profit providers of health care for America's low income families serve community, migrant and homeless health centers. NACHC works to promote the provision of high quality, comprehensive health care that is accessible, coordinated, culturally and linguistically competent, and community-directed for all underserved populations.
