SENATOR COLLINS GREETS LEWISTON DISTRICT COURT OFFICIALS

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Collins greeted (from left to right) Tim Darnell, Michele Haggan, and Susan Bard of the Lewiston District Court during their recent visit to Capitol Hill.  The group was in Washington, D.C. for National Police Week and National Peace Officers Memorial Day.  This commemoration began in 1962, when President John F. Kennedy signed into effect Public Law 87-726 and thereby made May 15th Peace Officer Memorial Day to honor those peace officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.  This day has since been expanded to National Peace Officer Memorial Week.
