Senator Collins On EPA’s Carbon Emissions Proposal

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Senator Susan Collins today issued the following statement regarding the EPA’s proposed rule pertaining to carbon emissions:

"I will carefully review EPA’s wide-ranging and complex proposal to reduce carbon emissions from existing fossil-fueled power plants that was announced today.  The public comment process will provide states, stakeholders, and the public with the opportunity to evaluate and comment on the new proposal, including its impact on public health, the affordability of electricity rates, the ability to meet state-specific goals, and the effect on our economy.

"Climate change is certainly a significant challenge that requires global solutions in order to reduce greenhouse gas pollution worldwide."
