SENATOR COLLINS COSPONSORS LEGISLATION TO DESIGNATE THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 6 - 12 AS “NATIONAL 4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WEEK”

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a member of the Senate Education Committee, announced today that she will cosponsor a resolution to designate October 6 - 12 as "National 4-H Youth Development Program Week" in honor of 4-H's 100th anniversary. The week will be celebrated with activities both in Washington, D.C., and throughout the nation.

"4-H Clubs make great contributions toward the development of well-rounded youth," said Senator Collins, a long-time supporter of 4-H. "This week is a great opportunity to recognize the 100 years of contributions that 4-H clubs around the nation have made to society."

Members of the 4-H Youth Development Program pledge their Heads to clearer thinking, their Hearts to greater loyalty, their Hands to larger service, and their Health to better living for the club, the community, the country, and the world.
