U.S. Senator Susan Collins, Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, today commented on the resignation of Presidential Homeland Security Advisor Frances Townsend:
“I have been fortunate to work closely with Fran on a number of critical homeland security issues including reforming the Federal Emergency Management Agency and implementing recommendations of the 9/11 Commission. Fran has served the nation well during more than two decades in public service. I thank her for her service and wish her the best.”
