SENATOR COLLINS APPLAUDS MAINE NATIONAL GUARD MOVE TO HELP HURRICANE KATRINA VICTIMS

WASHINGTON, DC—Senator Susan Collins is applauding the Maine National Guard's announcement that members of the Maine Air National Guard 101st Air Refueling Wing Medical Group will be deployed to Mississippi to help with Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts.

"I am proud of the members of Maine's Air National Guard who have already given so much of themselves for the sake of our country. Their most recent mission to deliver medical equipment to Mississippi is critical to helping these families as they struggle to piece their lives back together," Senator Collins said. "Hurricane Katrina has resulted in the worst natural disaster in our nation's history, inflicting pain and suffering upon hundreds of thousands of individuals and families in the Gulf Coast. My prayers continue to be with the victims of this terrible storm while the recovery efforts continue."
