Senator Collins’ Statement on the Retirement of UMaine Chancellor James Page

Washington, D.C. – Following the announcement by James Page that he will be stepping down as Chancellor of the University of Maine System, U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) released this statement:

“Jim Page’s tenure as Chancellor of the University of Maine System has brought about tremendous progress.  Delivering a high quality, affordable education to students has always been Jim’s number one priority.  In particular, he led the “One University” initiative to transition the seven campuses to one system that delivers education to students more effectively and efficiently.  He deserves credit and praise for his visionary leadership during a period of challenging demographics and economic constraints.

“I wish Jim and his wife Liane all the best and thank him for his service to the people of the State of Maine.”
