The League of Conservation Voters (LCV), an independent group devoted to environmentally sound public policy, today announced that U.S. Senator Susan Collins has received a perfect score of 100% on LCV monitored votes in the Senate over the past year. This score recognizes that Senator Collins has supported environmentally-sound policies, supported by the LCV, during the past session of Congress.
“I am pleased to be one of just three Senators to receive a perfect score from the League of Conservation Voters,” noted Senator Collins. “I remain committed to promoting sound environmental policies and protecting the natural beauty of our nation.”
Votes monitored by the LCV include, the Energy Independence and Security Act which raises overall fuel economy of cars and light trucks to 35 mpg; a proposal that would have increased offshore drilling; and the adoption of a Sense of the Congress resolution calling for mandatory limits on global warming pollution and the approval of a National Intelligence Estimate to deal with the security implications of climate change.
