Collins, King Congratulate Maine’s 2017 Senate Youth Program Delegates

Washington, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King congratulated Lily Tedford of South Portland and Katie Waeldner of Yarmouth for being selected as Maine’s delegates to the 55th Annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP). Lily and Katie will join 102 other students from across the country in spending a week in the nation’s capital where they will have an opportunity to study the American political process first-hand.


Sen. Collins Forms Federal Appointments Advisory Committee

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins recently established a committee known as the “Federal Appointments Advisory Committee” to evaluate candidates for Senate-confirmed positions in Maine. As the senior Republican member of Maine’s congressional delegation, Senator Collins will advise the Trump Administration as it selects candidates for federal positions in the state. The Committee’s recommendations will be an integral part of that process. 


Medicare Will Now Provide Coverage for Certain Continuous Glucose Monitors

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Senate Aging Committee and founder of the Senate Diabetes Caucus, released the following statement after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that Medicare will now provide coverage for certain continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). CGMs are devices used by individuals with Type 1 diabetes to control their blood glucose levels, which is key to preventing costly and sometimes deadly diabetes complications.
