U.S. Senators Collins and King announce $147,891 for Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced today that the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MECASA) in Augusta will receive $147,891 in grant funding through the State Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Coalitions Program.

“Survivors of sexual assault should have access to every resource available to ensure their safety,” said Senators Collins and King in a joint statement. “The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault has spent over three decades working to bring local programs together, identify gaps in services, and increase coordination to further their mission to prevent and respond to sexual violence in Maine.  This investment will help to support their vital efforts and increase resources for the survivors who need them.”

For over 35 years, the MECASA has represented and served Maine’s sexual assault service providers, worked toward ending sexual violence in Maine, and to supported high quality sexual violence prevention and response within Maine communities.
