"We are encouraged by the federal government's dedication to health and education services in Maine. These federal funds will allow communities across the State to continue to provide these essential services to residents," Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement.
The federal funding was allocated as follows: • $250,000 to the Maine Department of Human Services for research partnerships for the Maine Child Care Research Project.
• $100,000 to the Maine Department of Human Services, Division of Financial Services for Head Start collaboration purposes.
• $49,819 to the Preble Street Resource Center for community food and nutrition.
