SNOWE, COLLINS ANNOUNCE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE GRANTS TO MAINE TOTALING MORE THAN $500,000

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME) announced today that Maine has been awarded $512,624 in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. "The federal funding awarded today will allow these healthcare facilities to continue to provide exceptional services to Mainers," Senators Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement. The funds were allocated as follows:

• $350,000 to the Maine Department of Human Services for targeted assistance and local and state collaboration for women's behavioral health systems

• $147,624 to Northeast Health in Rockport for construction of healthcare facilities.

• $15,000 to Jackson Laboratory for cancer biology research.
