SNOWE, COLLINS ANNOUNCE $100,000 ENERGY GRANT TO MAINE

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins today announced that a grant totaling $100,000 has been awarded to the Regulatory Assistance Project from the U.S. Department of Energy. This funding is to be used for electric markets reliability enhancement.

"The blackouts in the Northeast over a year ago demonstrated the need for a more reliable electricity structure," Senators Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement. "This funding will allow for the enhancement of electricity reliability."

The Regulatory Assistance Project is a non-profit organization that provides research, analysis, and educational assistance to public officials on electric utility regulation.
