SNOWE AND COLLINS ANNOUNCE MORE THAN $650,000 IN GRANTS FOR MAINE HEALTH CENTERS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senators Snowe and Collins announced today that three projects in Maine will receive a total $652,663 in Expanded Medical Capacity grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Bureau of Primary Health Care. These funds will expand access to primary health care services for individuals in three communities.

"These projects represent some of the unique and innovative ways that Mainers are providing more comprehensive health care to under served citizens," said Senators Snowe and Collins in a joint statement. "This funding will allow each Health Center to expand their reach and achieve even greater success."

The funds are awarded for the following projects:

Ø $195,207 for the Bucksport Regional Health Center – To expand the primary care provided to the under serviced community of Bucksport, ME.

Ø $219,507 for DFD Russell Medical Center – To expand the primary care provided to the under serviced community of Leeds, ME.

Ø $237,949 for RHCM – Maine Migrant Health Program – For expanding the Migrant Health Care program in August, ME.
