SNOWE AND COLLINS ANNOUNCE $104,257 IN GRANT FUNDING TO BENEFIT HOUSING COUNSELING PROGRAMS IN MAINE

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins announced today that Maine will receive a total of $104,257 in Housing Counseling Program Awards from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to be shared among four housing counseling agencies.

"These funds are awarded on a competitive basis, representing the dedication and high quality of work produced by Maine housing counselors," said Senators Snowe and Collins in a joint statement.

The Housing Counseling Program is designed to provide housing counseling on a one- year basis to home buyers, homeowners, and renters. Under today's announcement, more than 334 organizations nationwide will share $18.25 million in funding assistance.
