Washington, D.C.  – U.S. Senator Susan Collins released the following statement congratulating Mary Dysart Hartt of Hampden on being named Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM) Advocate of the Month:

“Mary Dysart Hartt, along with her husband Mike, are pillars of the Bangor community and are well-known throughout Maine for their tireless advocacy on behalf of individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers,” said Senator Collins, a founder and co-chair of the Congressional Task Force on Alzheimer's Disease. “Congratulations to Mary for this well-deserved recognition. Your advocacy continues to inspire countless families that are affected by this devastating disease.

“Advocates like Mary Dysart Hartt of Hampden have empowered the Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM) to advance policies and make progress in the fight against Alzheimer’s and other dementia,” said Robert Egge, Alzheimer’s Association chief public policy officer and Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM) executive director. “Thank you to Mary, her husband Mike, and all of our dedicated advocates throughout the nation for their unrelenting commitment to this critical mission. It is because of their advocacy and the tireless leadership of congressional champions like Vice Chair Susan Collins that we continue to make progress in vital Alzheimer’s research and public health efforts.”
