Collins To Participate In Bipartisan Civil Rights Pilgrimage To Selma, Alabama

ORONO, Maine – At this morning’s 19th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. breakfast, sponsored by the University of Maine and the Greater Bangor NAACP, Senator Susan Collins announced today that she will travel to Selma, Alabama on the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday,” to participate in the Bipartisan Congressional Civil Rights Pilgrimage. The trip will commemorate the famous civil rights march that led to the enactment of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Collins, King, Poliquin Urge Commerce Secretary To Investigate Unfair Canadian Trade Practices In Paper Market

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a letter today, U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Angus King (I-ME), and Congressman Bruce Poliquin (R-ME), urge the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to address and put a stop to unfair Canadian trade practices in the paper market. At issue are potentially illegal subsidies being provided by the provincial government of Nova Scotia to the Port Hawkesbury Paper mill in Nova Scotia.

Collins, King Announce Maine's 2015 Senate Youth Program Delegates

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today congratulated Muna Mohamed of Lewiston and Andrew Sandweiss of Bangor on their selection as Maine’s delegates to the 53rd Annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP). Collins, Donnelly, Murkowski, Manchin: 40 Hours Is Full Time

Washington, D.C. – Today U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Joe Donnelly (D–IN) along with Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced the reintroduction of the bipartisan Forty Hours is Full Time Act, S. 30, which would change the definition of a “full-time employee” under the Affordable Care Act to someone who works an average of 40 hours per week.
