Senator Collins, Bipartisan Group Call On United Arab Emirates to Fulfill Funding Commitment to Prevent Thousands of Deaths in Yemen

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins joined a bipartisan group of seven Senators in calling on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates to fulfill his country’s $750 million commitment to the United Nations to help fund critical programs aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.  In the letter, the members warn that critical programs that provide vaccinations, food, fuel, and medicine are at risk, jeopardizing hundreds of thousands more lives in Yemen.

Appropriations Committee Passes Energy & Water Funding Bill, Includes Major Wins for Maine Championed by Senator Collins

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, announced today that the full committee advanced the fiscal year (FY) 2020 energy and water funding bill by a vote of 31-0.  The legislation includes provisions championed by Senator Collins to support important energy programs in Maine, such as the University of Maine’s (UMaine) offshore wind program, the Weatherization Assistance Program, and the Northern Border Regional Commission.  The legislation now heads to the Senate floor for consideration.

Funding Boost for Northern Border Regional Commission Unanimously Approved by Senate Appropriations Committee

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, announced today that the full committee advanced the fiscal year (FY) 2020 energy and water funding bill by a vote of 31-0.  The legislation includes provisions Senator Collins pushed for to support the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC).  The legislation now heads to the Senate floor for consideration.
