Senators Collins, King Announce $431,725 for Energy Efficiency in Rural Farms and Small Businesses from Aroostook to York County
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Angus King (I-Maine) announced today that nine rural Maine businesses will receive a total of $431,725 in funding through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) to purchase, construct and install solar panels or mechanisms to convert wood into pellets. REAP’s grant program, entitled Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Loans and Grants, provides financial assistance to agricultural producers and small businesses to upgrade renewable energy systems in rural areas.
