Senators Collins, King Announce Nearly $1 Million for Restorative Justice Project of Midcoast Maine

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced that Restorative Justice Project in Belfast has been awarded $924,307 through the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Innovations in Community Based Crime Reduction Program (CBCR).  The funding will be used to develop and implement a strategic, collaborative, and community-oriented plan to reduce crime.

Collins, King Announce Workforce Development Funding at the University of Maine at Presque Isle

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Angus King (I-Maine) announced today that the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) has been awarded a five-year, $2,249,810 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to bolster student services in career development.  The funding will help students, particularly those who qualify as low-income, earn degrees in computer science and health administration by contributing to a computer lab and health administration learning center.

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Aging Committee, is cautioning seniors to be on guard against a pernicious scam that seeks to rob them of their hard-earned savings.  Mainers have reported receiving calls that appear to be from the Social Security Administration informing them that their Social Security number has been compromised.  The scammers claim they need additional information from the victim to verify their identity.
