COVID-19 Financial Relief for Maine Farmers Tops $8.58 Million

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced today that Maine farmers have been awarded a total of $8,588,357 to date to help offset the financial harm they have experienced due to COVID-19.  The funding is provided through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP), created through the CARES Act, which will provide up to $16 billion in direct payments to deliver relief to America’s farmers.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02), Congressman David Rouzer (NC-07), and Senator Tina Smith (D-MN) today introduced bipartisan, bicameral legislation to provide relief to family logging and log hauling businesses that have been seriously impacted by COVID-19 and the resulting economic crisis. Senator Angus King (I-ME) is a co-sponsor of the bill.



Senator Collins Announces $3.2 Million for Casco Bay Lines to Purchase Hybrid Engine for New Passenger Ferry

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, announced today that the Casco Bay Island Transit District (CBITD) has been awarded $3,200,000 to purchase a diesel electric hybrid propulsion system to power its soon-to-be constructed new vessel.  This funding was awarded through the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) competitive Passenger Ferry Grant Program.
