Senator Collins’ Statement on Bolton Developments

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) issued this statement following the recent reports about John Bolton’s book:


“From the beginning, I’ve said that in fairness to both parties the decision on whether or not to call witnesses should be made after both the House managers and the President’s attorneys have had the opportunity to present their cases.


“I’ve always said that I was likely to vote to call witnesses, just as I did in the 1999 Clinton trial.



Senators Collins, King Join Bipartisan Effort to Stand Up for America’s Dairy Farmers

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Angus King (I-ME) joined a bipartisan group of Senators in sending a letter to Dr. Stephen Hahn, the new Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Working on behalf of dairy farmers in Maine and across the country, the Senators implored Commissioner Hahn to work with Congress to combat the misuse of dairy terms on non-dairy products.



Senator Collins Joins Bipartisan Group in Introducing Bill to Hold E-Cigarette Companies Accountable for the Youth Vaping Crisis

Washington, D.C. — This week, U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Richard Durbin (D-IL), Mitt Romney (R-UT), and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) introduced bipartisan legislation to protect children from the dangers of e-cigarettes. The Resources to Prevent Youth Vaping Act would require that e-cigarette manufacturers pay user fees to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to help to fund more activity at FDA to conduct stronger oversight of the e-cigarette industry and increase awareness for the danger of e-cigarettes.
