Senator Collins’ Bill to Advance Energy Storage Technology Clears Senate Hurdle

WASHINGTON, D.C. – With broad, bipartisan support, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today advanced a comprehensive energy storage package to the full Senate.  The package was reported as an amendment to the Better Energy Storage Technology (BEST) Act introduced by Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine). The committee chose to use Senator Collins’ bill as the foundation of the package to reflect of her leadership on energy storage and clean energy technologies. 



Bill to Fund Key Agricultural Programs in Maine Passes Senate Appropriations Committee

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, announced that the full committee advanced the fiscal year (FY) 2020 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies funding bill by a vote of 31-0.  The legislation includes provisions championed by Senator Collins to support potato and forest products research programs, expand access to rural broadband, and lower the cost of prescriptions drugs.
