Senator Collins Announces Social Security Beneficiaries Will Receive Coronavirus Stimulus Rebate Checks Automatically

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Aging Committee, announced today that Social Security beneficiaries will not be required to file a tax return in order to receive a rebate check under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.  Senator Collins strongly supported the policyreleased by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service that will make it easier for many seniors to obtain these targeted relief funds.
